record store realizations.

We went to the record store tonight.  I picked through albums, laughed with friends, and had enough self control to not buy the new Kings Of Leon on vinyl.  Yet here I sit thinking.  Oh how 9pm has become my least favorite time of day.  That’s when everything seems so dramatic and real.  I’m just tired of thinking.  Tonight I realized I knew all this before.  It’s all been one big circle.  It’s time to embrace more diagonal lines.

The question then becomes, run or fight?

ps. Thank God Seattle is only a phone call away, I feel sooo much better.

Fall walks.

The sound of leaves crunching under my feet gets me every time…

I got the chance this weekend to test out my new homemade fish-eye lens.  I think it turned out pretty cool.  I put more photos up on my Flickr.  Check it out, let me know what you think!

xoxo.

Painting faces, building places.

New mix tonight.  It’s been hard to find something worth sharing, I’m not gonna lie.  I will say though that I’m quite pleased with the tracks that made the cut.  I’m too tired tonight and anxious about tomorrows schedule to write much, but know that like always, these are the songs of my ‘now’.  Think playful, hopeful, and passionate, while reminiscent, hurting, and cryptic.  Yet underneath it all still optimistic and ready to take on what comes next, make sense?  Yeah, it doesn’t much to me either, haha. Glad we’re on the same page…

Somebody.

Acid Tongue / Jenny Lewis
Use Somebody / Kings Of Leon
Dumpster Diving / Castledoor
You Don’t Know Me (feat. Regina Spektor) / Ben Folds
Decode / Paramore
Playing Along / Keane
Let It Be Me / Ray LaMontagne
My Body Is a Cage / Sara Lov
Somewhere A Clock Is Ticking / Snow Patrol
Broadripple Is Burning / Margot and the Nuclear So & Sos
Elephants / Rachael Yamagata

Turn it up.

I wish I had my own theme music.

That’d be amazing.

Someday, Sunday.

I’ve been a wish-wash-conflicted-content mess this week.  At first I tired to ignore feeling undone and just push through.  It worked for about 24 hours.  Then I tried to make the most out of what I had.  That lasted about 48 hours.  By thursday morning I was ready for a restart.  By thursday night, I was cooking up some pasta and dreaming about the past.  Friday I was hopeful, and then shattered.  You just can’t paint over a messy room.  So on Saturday I cleaned.  I cleaned out my room, my closet, my sewing stuff, and my mind.  This whole changing process can be a real drag.  Part of me was hoping I’d just wake up and poof! everything in my life would be arranged in a way I can only dream of.  Realistically, I’m going to need a lot more days like today before I even begin to see the shifts in my perspective.

Today was great.  No more wallowing and planning.  This morning I got out of bed, put on some clothes, went to the grocery store, got a hot cider, and started the day off right.  Bing and I met up and went hiking/exploring all over Edwin Warner Park all afternoon.  We laughed, tripped, and found some very inspirational metaphors out in those trees.  For example, Bing follows the arrows, and I would like to know what the point of having a quarry is if you have no rocks?  There was also a fork in the road that literally was dark or light.  Being outside with one of your closest friends is my idea of a perfect afternoon.  Oh, and we hung out with some fish, I swear I saw a tadpole.  It was great.  Then we went to my new favorite lunch spot, Elena’s Cafe.  I had the Strawberry Green Salad, strawberries, walnuts, feta cheese, and chicken.  I usually am not a salad fan but this salad was the BEST!  Seriously, go try it.

Tomorrow is monday… I’ve got a mix in the works.  For now go buy the Castle Door EP.  So good!  And that’s all I’m going to be rambling about tonight ( :

October 19, 2008.

Tomorrow is a day I intend to remember for a long time.  I’ll be sitting down at a coffee shop for a few hours with a pen and paper.  It’s time to write out some new goals and dreams…  Then put them into action.

Molly is Molly.

My writings and my mixes have found a new home. A cleverly named home if I do say so myself (thanks for the inspiration Mr. Miller).  I’ve waited quite a while to finally settle down with a piece of web space.  This is it.  I commit.  So if you need me, this is where I’ll be.  Here goes…
